About Us Hiles-McLeod Insurance, Inc. has served the insurance needs of Pensacola and the Florida Panhandle since 1964. We are an Independent Insurance Agency. We do not work for an insurance company, we work for you. Hiles-McLeod Insurance is comprised of two former agencies. The Cabaniss Agency established in 1948 by Mr. Cabaniss and Mr. Henry Hiles. Mr. Walter McLeod started the McLeod Agency in 1957. In 1964, the two agencies merged to become Hiles-McLeod Insurance, Inc. Jimmy Eddins began working for Hiles-McLeod in 1978. Jimmy was a former special agent with Auto Owners Insurance for 7 years and also worked for SafeCo for five years. In 1980, Chris Pate joined Hiles-McLeod after working with another agency in Pensacola for six years. Jimmy and Chris became corporate owners in 1981. In 2007, Jimmy Eddins’ ownership was purchased by Chris Pate & Mike Eddins. Prior to joining Hiles-McLeod in 2002, Mike worked 10 years in the insurance industry at two companies, the Cincinnati Insurance Company and Auto Owners Insurance. The strong tradition of outstanding customer service through knowledgeable and professional staff continues. All lines of insurance are available through excellent national, regional, and surplus carriers. With six agents and ten support staff (four of whom are licensed agents), the agency gives each account the individual attention necessary in today’s insurance marketplace.
